The 17th CinemAsia Film Festival is scheduled from March 6 to 11, 2025, in Amsterdam. This edition will feature a diverse selection of Asian cinema, including films from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, India, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam.

Strategy and Design
The CinemAsia Film Festival brings together stories from across Asia and its diaspora to enhance Asian visibility and influence in Dutch culture and media. As the brand undergoes an image transformation, this year’s festival design focuses on a shift in perspective through the symbol of the “eye.” Visually, the “eye” symbol is intentionally arranged in a mirrored relationship with the letter “A” in “CinemAsia,” symbolizing the principles of cinematic vision.
Additionally, the typography has been updated from a rounded typeface to a bold sans-serif, shaping a more modern and minimalist brand tone. A pixelated gradient is used as a secondary design element to enhance flexibility across various applications, ensuring adaptability for extended brand materials.

Beyond reinforcing the strength of the brand’s iconic “eye” symbol, the new visual identity seeks to communicate the festival’s broader vision and aspirations. By intersecting Asian cinema, popular media, and community building, the festival aims to enrich public discourse on Asian culture and foster a more inclusive society.
