YU-TZU HUANG 黃郁慈
a.k.a. PHOENIX
Born in Taiwan. Yu-Tzu Huang is a graphic designer, artist and calligrapher from Taiwan. Her recent works combine visual modes of research with academic research to investigate the symbolic images and trace the border between images and social memory. She is working with topics such as cultural identity, language, modern mythologies, political issue. Many of her works talk about symbolism and attempt to observe the movement of intention.
Her work is made by various transmedia like books, illustrations, graphic designs, and installations.
During the studying in master MA Information Design at Design Academy Eindhoven(DAE), she experimented and discovered her projects by her personal design methodologies. After graduation from DAE, she won the Dutch Design Talents with her master graduation project BURNING AND REBIRTH(Passport project).
